Teacher answer key

  1. Warm-up: answers will vary.
  2. Vocabulary: accept accurate contextual meanings.
  3. Reading / grammar: Comprehension: 1) A reason or detail. 2) Because. 3) What is my main idea? Why is it true? What detail/example can I add? 4) They explain the idea. 5) It makes the meaning clearer and more specific. Grammar: because for all four sentences.
  4. Listening script: “Mia begins with the sentence, “Walking to school is good.” She expands it by adding a reason: walking gives students exercise. Then she adds an example about walking with friends in the morning. At the end, she checks that the sentence is clear and complete.”
  5. Speaking, Something New and writing: answers will vary.

Puzzle/Game: answers will vary. Encourage students to use lesson vocabulary and explain their choices.

Success criteria: this is a student self-check. No single answer is required.

For open-ended tasks, accept different answers when students can explain or support them clearly.
