Teacher answer key
- Warm-up: answers will vary.
- Vocabulary: accept accurate contextual meanings.
- Reading / grammar: Comprehension: 1) Clarity, support/details and accuracy. 2) No; it also strengthens ideas. 3) It gives a reason and more information. 4) Capitals, full stops and commas. 5) It can make the whole paragraph clearer and stronger. Grammar sample corrections: 1 My school has a library. It is open every day. 2 I like sport because it is fun, and it keeps me healthy. 3 Students need quiet places to study. 4 For example, many students use the library after class.
- Listening script: “Leo reads his paragraph slowly. First, he checks whether each sentence is clear. In his second sentence, he notices that his reason is too general, so he adds an example. Then he checks capital letters and full stops. Finally, he reads the paragraph once more to make sure the ideas connect well.”
- Speaking, Something New and writing: answers will vary.
Puzzle/Game: answers will vary. Encourage students to use lesson vocabulary and explain their choices.
